On May 22nd, 2007, I landed in #NYC with no job and no real plan. Just an internship and a bedroom at my college boyfriend’s parents house. Shoutout to my alma mater, Clark Atlanta University because lil mama found a way and made one to be here NINE years later.
New York is a liar, a scammer, and a messy bitch that lives for drama, but I still love her like cooked food. Bedford-Stuyvesant, I love you forever bae!
Shoutout to the faces and places that are no longer here. To all of us still roughing the rotten apple out, can you believe we’re still here and alive? I couldn’t have done this city without any of you.
People may look at this blog as just a hobby or something to fill my time with, but it’s sooooo much more than that. It’s a historical database of the dive bars, lowkey food spots, warehouse parties, and the FYE people that make NYC the ugly beauty she is.
No one has done this town harder than I have and I hope that you all feel my passion for the city whenever you click a blog post. It’s why I am truly NYC’s biggest fan in the form of the coolest black girl alive behind the dopest travel blog the world has ever seen.
