pizza is the most important food group, so it’s hard to get between a girl and her slice. alas, thanks to irregular operating hours and aggressive gentrification, my fave pizza spot has officially closed. i sat shiva for at least two months until i found myself at daddy greens.
there’s a bible scripture that reads, ‘when one (pizza shop) door closes, another opens.’ he is truly an on time god, because daddy greens has officially been crowned the best pizza in brooklyn by the iso14below team (aka me)!!! since my first visit, i’ve averaged a twice a week date with big daddy. sure, it’s partly attributed to the fact that they have ac and my apt doesn’t, but the pizza is just downright superior.
let’s talk crust.
covered in sesame seeds and stuntin’ on crust across the globe? and is!
you have never had actual mozz cheese until you’ve visited daddy greens. rich and flavorful, not one slice skimps on the good stuff. outside of plain cheese, veggie, chicken parm, and buffalo chicken are my fave fun flavors.
besides pizza, daddy greens also offers salads, sandwiches (made on the tastiest homemade bread) and pasta. i should also mention that the rosemary iced tea and ginger lemonade needs to be sold in growlers. if you’re ignoring your summer weight loss plan, you can wash all of this down with dessert from the beloved, abu’s bakery.
on top of all of this, daddy greens is reasonably priced, with specialty slices capping at $3.50. the restaurant is spacious and airy making for a pleasant dine-in experience. the staff is great especially the guys on the pizza ministry. lastly, shout out to the fact that it’s black-owned!
honestly, what else is there to say? daddy greens is the best best! i’ll prob head over as soon as i hit “publish” on this frfr.
