as boy crazy as i am, i’ve always been one of the legendary children. the lgbt community had a sizable role in my upbringing, so i’m always in my happy feels when pride roles around. after some time in nyc, there was a solid block of about two years when all i did was go to queer parties. the cool black kid scene died out in 2010 and there was nowhere else to go that had the same quality djs and a crowd unafraid to sweat their clothes out. i started going to parties like pantyhose, whorehouse, and badussy and it felt like home. i could go in as tiny an outfit as i wanted and dance my life away without being harassed or poked by hard-ons all night. the vibes were always high and the music was bumpin’. it was in these spaces that i discovered my favorite lady djs.
i said that i wasn’t going to do anything for pride this year since it’s #straightgurlsummer, buuuuuuuut there is no way that i can say no to what will be the most epic party of pride 2015.
how is it even legal to have mursi layne (go bff!), bonnie danger, tigga calore, sherock, kc, and UNiiQU3 all on one bill? look, i had mursi and bonnie dj my 24th bday and i barely made it out of that jawn without dislocating my hip. no type will essentially be oprah’s legend’s ball…but for djs.
it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this may be the hardest party of the summer. no matter where you land on the sexuality spectrum, i’m pretty sure you need to be bent over (or bending someone over) at no type. cop tix here.
