brooklyn is literally the best place in the entire world to be in the summer.
everyone is sunkissed and semi-nude. it’s a festival or block party every other day. the best part of it all? you don’t have to come out of your pocket for fun for a solid three months. #AintGodGood i’ve already hipped you to my summerstage schedule, so check below all of the other bk happs and make a sched of your own.
i’m always looking forward to summers at the prospect park bandshell. this season is kicking off with my spirit animal chaka khan and ending with my bae tune-yards, so i’m beyond excited about the lineup!

shoutout to black cinema getting it’s due! my main squeeze bam will be presenting classic black films in the name of black music month at the putnam triangle plaza (fulton st + grand ave) also known as the spot on fulton where the old black people hang out. “soul power” was supposed to play on june 2nd, but it was rained out. i’ll keep you posted on a rescheduled date.

caribbeing heritage film series
the good people at the brooklyn museum in collaboration with caribbeing will be celebrating west indian cinema with three viewings throughout the month. events are free with museum admission, so you better step your game up and a membership!
